Elizabeth Jane Hurley, an English actress and model who was famous during the 90s as Hugh Grant's partner, is an English model. When Grant's film Four Weddings and a Funeral gained international recognition, Hurley accompanied Grant to its Los Angeles premiere wearing a black Versace dress and gold safety-pins. The dress immediately garnered public attention. Hurley's association to Estee Lauder, a cosmetics producer, is regarded as a defining moment in her career. Hurley was recruited by Estee Lauder to be their first model at age at the age of 29. From 1995 onwards, she has been a model for products from the company, including Sensuous Intuition & Pleasures. In the cult spy comedies International Man of Mystery (1997) as well as Austin Powers The Spy Who Shagged Me (1998), she appeared as Vanessa Kensington. Perry's early attempts to become famous in the mainstream weren't successful. Perry was signed by two different record companies, however, she was dropped before her music was made available for release. In 2007 however Capitol Records put out Perry's EP Ur So Gay which attracted little attention due to its jolly humorous title track. Perry gained more attention a few months later, with the track I Kissed a Girl an assertive ode to the desire for sexual pleasure accompanied by electronic beats that are hard to resist. It was a controversial song, as critics criticized the song for encouraging relationships between gay men and also argued that the song depicted a sexually explicit story which appealed to men's fantasies regarding female sexuality. I Kissed a Girl became popular worldwide thanks to its blend of titillation with a polished song melody. It also helped drive sales for her 2008 album of the same name, one of the Boys. Along with its lively sharp-tongued, bouncy track Hot N Cold also proving popular the album much of written by Perry created herself ultimately registered sales of more than three million copies in the United States.
