Pickler, who was then at the age of 12 was handed to her parents after the court hearing. Pickler is adamant about her grandparents as major influences in life throughout her entire life, was a child of the grandparents. Faye Pickler, the grandmother who raised her died of lung cancer in the year 2001. The grandfather continued to take care of Pickler. Pickler earned her high school diploma from North Stanly in New London, North Carolina.
