Kellie Pickler was born 28 June 1986 to Cynthia Morton Pickler and Clyde Raymond Pickler in Stanly Memorial Hospital Albemarle. At the time of her pregnancy she was just 16 years old. This was an extremely difficult time for Pickler as her father battled in addiction with drinking and drug addiction while her mother left her when she was only two. Morton kept custody of Pickler for a period of two years, but Pickler admitted that things were getting a bit difficult. The fourth grade was when she learned this. It's a shame I didn't do something about it. But, it did leave the impression of a long-lasting emotional wound. Pickler, who was then at the age of 12 was handed to her parents after the court hearing. Pickler is adamant about her grandparents as major influences in life throughout her entire life, was a child of the grandparents. Faye Pickler, the grandmother who raised her died of lung cancer in the year 2001. The grandfather continued to take care of Pickler. Pickler earned her high school diploma from North Stanly in New London, North Carolina.
