The Joint Leadership of the United States Congress (Congressional Award Board of Directors) gives the Horizon Award a special recognition. The Horizon Award is given to people working in the private sector who have worked to increase opportunities for all Americans. It also honors individuals who have set outstanding models for youngsters through their accomplishments in life. Tom was a great teammate and loved being in such a skilled, experienced group. He worked hard and played hard when his Magnum schedule was able to allow . Tom was very patient with us all and we enjoyed the large crowds which replaced the sparse number of players' friends and spouses at the National tourney games. ".
